Above the ever famous Daisy Buchanans, Ciao Bella serves up tasty italian fare like the best. Known for a good cup of capacinno, and equally known for their dark, upscale atmostphere. The prices are moderate. Want a updated version of a classic? Try the mac n' cheese. It's not of the blue box variety.
Patio in the summer, and always busy.

In the midst of Newbury Street's pretension lies a gem of a bar, home to cheap beer ($3-5), shots ($6-7), and cocktails ($6.50), as well as a rowdy, notably un-Newbury St. crowd. Named after the golden girl of The Great Gatsby, Daisy's has managed not only to stand the test of time but also to stay on top. Also known as the Dirty Flower, this cozy, wood-paneled space gets packed almost every night of the week with a mixed college and twenty-something crowd, all on the prowl. Sa nights are jammed, so come on time; expect lines on weekends in the summer and fall. Even Boston's pro athletes stop by from time to time. There's also a kitchen (sandwiches $6-9) with some well priced specials ($5). No cover. This section contains information from Harvard Student Agencies' Unofficial Guide to Life at Harvard.

A favorite gathering spot for Boston Europeans and Newbury Socialites. Summer brings those seeking long lunches, and nights have candle lit dinners. The menu features good appetizers and creative pizza combos. Try the sangria. The dine-in space is small, but has a nice dark modern atmosphere. The staff aren't your "warm and cuddley" type, but that does mean its not a great first date place. Advice: stick to the summers for dining in- and do take out in the winter. The family photo on the wall and European soccer playing in the back blend with marble tables, exotic brass candlesticks, and finely-woven rugs to create a mysterious blend of swank pretension and family sincerity. The loquacious owner talks warmly about his business as he embraces and kisses his loyal regulars. North African specialities, including multiple varieties of lamb, provide tantalizing respite from the standard Newbury fare. Entrees are pricey ($16-24) and may not always reflect the quality and quantity of the food served.

This is a cute restaurant with limited seating, making the experience extra special. The menu varies with the season, but almost never fails to satify. Creative ingridients superbly put together. A great first date place, just make sure you go early to get a table.

One of the classic Boston steakhouses, however Abe and Louie's was hot even before the recent steak craze. Dark and decadent, this Boylston street hotspot offers a variety of steaks, fabulous wines, and even a wonderful weekend brunch. Over-sized leather courtroom chairs and Hollywood-style booths in the dining room create an inviting atmosphere while impressive bronze chandeliers, massive torchieres, traditional mahogany detailing, and the gold leaf barrel vault ceiling add an air of elegance. Make sure to try the steak benedict!
